Robert McKay Kay

Robert McKay Kay III was born of a fourth-generation Kay on October 7, 1957 in Bournemouth, England. His grandfather, Robert McKay Kay, a Scotsman, traded in fine woods and established a trading post in Port Gentil, French West Africa, formerly known as the Gold Coast. His Father, Robert McKay Kay II, was raised in Africa, completed his education in Hampshire, England, and worked in Southampton, England.

A First Venture
Robert completed his education in 1976. He went into business for himself running a small restaurant. He was involved in every aspect of the business including cooking, managing and bookkeeping.

A Tradesman
Robert earned enough cash from his restaurant to place a deposit on a small house and purchased his first home in 1979. With the equity as collateral, he purchased a small garage business, which bought and sold second hand cars. Robert improved trade and soon had two full-time employees.

A Businessman
Robert ventured into the new and exiting field of video cassette rental in 1980. A small bank loan enabled this venture. Within months Robert opened more shops, and within two years had eight video superstores; they were a tremendous success.

A Developer
With this capital, Robert ventured into the property development business in 1981. He put together a construction team of craftsmen, building and renovating residences and shops/ office projects. Robert has been extremely successful as a developer and has been able to trade very profitably.

An Owner-Operator
In 1986, Robert remodelled a 48-bed nursing home. The success of this home prompted Robert to convert a historic building into a 40-bed nursing home in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, England in 1987. Later that year, Robert converted another property, the former home of Lord Eden, for use as a nursing home for people with head injuries.

A Going Concern
In 1991, Robert purchased Magna Nursing Home, a partly-finished building project. He completed the construction of a 72-bed nursing home and opened in 1992.

A Golf & Country Club Resort
In 1992 Robert bought Tracy ark Golf and Country Club Resort from the Kuwait Government Investment Office for £2 Million. Robert doubled revenue by remodelling and implementing innovative marketing plans. In particular, Robert attracted over 50 weddings a year and provided accommodations for them.

Current Projects
Robert owns a vast amount of class “A” commercial property in England, UK and has projects in the USA, England and Spain. For the last 17 years Robert has specialized in commercial investments and completed many projects both with joint venture partners and alone. Personal
Robert is married to Teresa, originally from Atlanta, Georgia, US and has five children: Gemma, Krystle, Harriet, Liberty and Robert McKay Kay IV.

Robert is an active jet pilot. He holds a full commercial pilot’s license and is type rated to fly the Citation Jet CJ 525, the Citation 501 SP and Citation II. He is also a fully-qualified helicopter pilot type rated to fly the Bell Jet Ranger helicopter, Hughes 500 series, and the R22 helicopters. Robert has been flying since 1986 and has flown himself in a light aircraft across the North Atlantic from Florida to Europe. Currently, Robert is building his own aeroplane, a six-seat jet prop capable of 420 mph.
